People new to hemp often feel more comfortable trying a jar of CBD jelly beans. Compared to other CBD extracts, the edibles taste much better and are very unobtrusive. In addition, CBD jelly beans have a milder impact on the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The slower absorption rate of CBD jelly helps to introduce this hemp cannabinoid without overwhelming a new user.
While hemp-infused jelly beans are a phenomenal choice for people with zero experience with CBD, that doesn’t mean any old dose will work. Early customers should be able to evaluate the ideal potency for a CBD gum.
There is a debate about how much CBD should be in a standard edible product. Honestly, so many variables could affect the amount of CBD “just enough” for each client. From metabolism and CBD tolerance to age and weight, tons of factors determine your ideal dose of jelly beans.
However, CBD experts always state that you need more CBD in groceries to feel effects similar to those of a sublingual CBD oil. As the introduction suggests, CBD jelly passes through the liver before entering the bloodstream. CBD oils can cross the blood-brain barrier directly through the sublingual glands of the tongue.
Therefore, any dose you feel comfortable taking with CBD jelly beans will be lower once you try a CBD oil or tincture. Plus, there’s more leeway with the maximum dose for CBD groceries because you won’t absorb 100 percent of those products.
What does this mean for calculating an average dose of CBD? Today, most CBD jelly beans contain between 10 and 20 mg of CBD per piece. However, Tribe CBD considers this average range to be too stingy. To offset the enzymatic activity of the liver, we decided to put 30 mg of full-spectrum CBD in our vegan-friendly CBD jelly beans.
Like our famous CBD oil, guests will enjoy dozens of cannabinoids and secondary hemp terpenes while eating our CBD jelly beans. These additional hemp compounds may improve the effectiveness of CBD due to the “environmental effect”. You can learn more about this theory in this previous Tribe CBD post.
As we mentioned in our previous blog, “Can you OD with CBD?”, The “toxic dose” of CBD is about 20,000 mg. Therefore, although a CBD overdose is possible, it is unlikely. However, this does not mean that you cannot experience side effects while taking CBD products, especially jelly beans.
Remember that CBD jelly beans take longer to hit your ECS compared to CBD oils and tinctures. For this reason, customers are more likely to abuse CBD foods at first and experience side effects later in the day. There are some cases where consumers eat too many CBD jelly beans and report serious reactions such as headaches, digestive upset or nausea.
To avoid this scenario, you should keep a dose diary when taking any new CBD products. Please start with just one of our CBD jelly beans and increase one per day until you feel the results you are looking for. You may also want to split your CBD dose into two or three sessions to avoid taking too much of this cannabinoid at once.
While Tribe CBD is proud of our award-winning full-spectrum CBD oil, we understand that this hemp extract is not suitable for every customer or situation. If you’re looking for a more subtle and unobtrusive way to dose CBD, you should check out Tribe’s CBD vegan jelly beans. Made with just a touch of natural sweeteners, these watermelon-flavored foods offer a phenomenal explosion of CBD.
