BUCKHANNON – Moon Flower, a cannabis company selling seeds in Upshur County, bought the building at 46 East Main Street (formerly Jesterline) to open its first store.
Ruck and Macie Queen, natives of Buckhannon, launched their Moon Flower business in May 2019. Since its opening, they have grown 20,000 hemp plants over three growing seasons on their Ushur County farm. Once harvested, hemp undergoes an extraction process, producing concentrated CBD oil. This oil is then converted into topical foods, tinctures, and topical ointments to treat a wide variety of ailments, such as arthritis, joint pain, anxiety, insomnia, depression, nausea, and more. Parts of the crop are stored, trimmed and sold as “smoke”. product ”, such as pre-laminated joints.
After nearly three years of selling their products online and in retail stores, the Queen sisters and their Moon Flower team will be offering their cannabis products at their new location on East Main Street. “Our space will offer so much more than just our product,” co-owner Riley explained. “We want to create an environment for people to hang out, enjoy live music, board games, poetry, homemade edible food from our mini bakery, and be educated about the wonders of the hemp plant!”
The Queens and the Moon Flower team can’t wait to join the “main street family,” as the central strip of Buckhannon continues to thrive with new, unique spaces. Co-owner Macie Queen added: “We grew up in Upshur County and have seen Main Street flourish in so many ways over the years. We look forward to being part of the progress and providing a unique place for people to enjoy! Not only do we have the opportunity to relieve ourselves through holistic medicine, but we can also play a role in making Buckhannon exciting and progressive.The building where he moved is large, so we can accommodate all our facilities such as our lab, our kitchen, our shipping center and even a growing room!
