A HIGHLY rated Lancaster brewery business is continuing to expand its already successful service to the South Lakes and Cumbria.
Cannabrew is an independent brewery business that has been brewed with CBD oil since 2019.
The company was founded by Elliot Horner, 23, who also works alongside his brother Lewis.
Cannabrew’s successful line of beer includes Sesh IPA, Soul Lager, and its bestselling Cloud Cider.
Based out on Dalton Square in Lancaster, the company’s influence has been felt in Hawks Head, Ambleside, Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale, amongst other places in Cumbria.
They have also branched out to shops in Barrow and Ulverston.
Founder Elliott said: “We sell all over. There are five of us working together, both part time and full time.
“We have our Sesh IPA, Soul Lager and our Cloud Apple Cider which at the moment is one of our highest sellers.
“It’s been really good trading in the South Lakes and we love being there. We love it for sales, and it’s a good excuse just to get out there.
“We have a lot of products dotted about the place.
“In 2019 we started. My brother and I used to work in a brewery together and that’s how it all began.
“We love craft beer and saved up to go to brewery school.
“Before this I used to play semi-pro Rugby for Kirkby and Cumbria before being picked up by Blackpool.
“While playing we were always looking for a way to help recovery from injuries, and CBD was a good method for that. It worked wonders and help on a mental level as well.
“I always wanted to start my own beer business, and with CBD we got started. We only had a shoe string budget but we launched and worked from there.
“The pandemic was difficult but we offered deliveries and we even created our own virtual tour of the business.
“It’s like a game. You get a robot which walks through the building, and I’m on the other end giving you the brand story.
“While competitors were stuck inside, we were offering virtual experiences.
“We have been picked up by the Guardian, Ferment and The Grocer.
“We’ve had the second most rated lager in the UK, and we’ve had some amazing feedback on our beers.
“All our products are vegan and the cider is gluten free.
“We’re all about sustainability. We’re very passionate about that. ”
