With property taxes to be paid this Friday, the County Advisory Office notifies real estate owners that they can apply for a copy of their 2021-22 tax bills.
According to a press release posted on the evaluator’s website, staffing issues related to staff shortages, COVID-19 and rotation have hampered efforts to process deferral transfers in a timely manner.
“Some new homeowners may not receive a duplicate copy of their new tax bill on time for the first payment,” according to the statement.
The assessor’s office informs taxpayers that their bank or financial institution may request a copy of the invoice, or the taxpayer may request a copy from the Kern County Treasurer-Tax Collector by calling 661-868-3490. As noted elsewhere in this edition, payments can be made online.
On June 30, the Appraisal Office had completed the registration of the real estate tax and had published the assessed values online using the website property search function.
