Is CBD Oil Addictive? – MITechNews

DETROIT – Many people want to try CBD for the first time, but are hesitant because of its close relationship with marijuana. We created this post to clear up any misconceptions and stigma surrounding CBD products so you can try CBD with confidence.

Before you buy cannabidiol for the first time, make sure you are buying from a reputable brand such as cbdMD or a company that offers transparency in what is in the products.

Is CBD addictive?

The use of cannabinoids does not produce addictive behavior. Even THC, the compound in cannabis responsible for the high, is not addictive and will not cause withdrawal when use is stopped.

CBD does not produce intoxicating effects and therefore has no addictive properties. Also, CBD and THC cannot cause an overdose. No one has ever died from cannabinoid use.

Substances like pain medications, alcohol, and even caffeine can be addictive, but surprisingly, CBD is not.

Can you get addicted to CBD?

No matter how much or how much CBD you take, you will not become addicted to the cannabinoid.

The American Society of Addiction Medicine defines addiction as “a treatable chronic medical condition that involves complex interactions between an individual’s brain circuits, genetics, environment, and life experiences. People with addiction use substances or engage in behaviors that become compulsive and often continue despite harmful consequences.”

Regular use of CBD will not alter your behavior or lead to harmful consequences. So if you want to take CBD for the first time but are worried about getting hooked, you’re in the clear.

Is THC oil addictive?

THC is much more complicated. Although many experts say that the compound is not addictive because it will not lead to severe withdrawal and compulsive behavior, chronic use of marijuana is known to produce mildly addictive behavior.

Although THC is not at the same level as alcohol and cannabis use cannot cause death, some people will experience mood swings when they stop using it.

Is Full Spectrum CBD addictive?

Full-spectrum CBD contains small amounts of THC; however, it is not enough to produce intoxicating effects. So regardless of whether you think THC is addictive or not, the small amount of full-spectrum CBD will not lead to addiction.

Are CBD gummies addictive?

Any type of delivery method does not change the fact that CBD is not addictive. This includes oil, edibles, topical gummies, and CBD. Also, the amount and frequency of CBD you take does not affect the addictive properties of the compound.

CBD oil side effects

CBD is not addictive, but first-time users should be cautious. Side effects are rare and mild, but they do happen. The most common are:

  • diarrhea
  • Stomach upset
  • Nausea
  • fatigue
  • Loss of appetite

Side effects usually occur when a new user takes more than they should. As a result, their bodies are not used to the compounds and have an adverse reaction. Although a small percentage of people will not be able to use CBD without experiencing mild side effects, most people can avoid them by using CBD safely.

Using CBD safely

We recommend starting with a small dose (5-10 mg) once a day. Then take the same amount for 1 week and observe the results. Once you’ve made sure your body can handle the CBD, increase the dose by 5mg. Continue with this regimen until you have experienced the benefits you seek.

Everyone is different, but the ideal dose for most people is between 25 and 75 mg. Once you’ve found your perfect dose, you can start taking CBD several times a day if needed.

When choosing CBD, remember to only use reputable brands that provide the source of hemp, third-party lab testing, and the extraction process.
