A woman who committed suicide after taking a cocktail of strong prescription drugs to control her chronic pain has revealed how taking CBD oil allowed her to quit her medication.
Jade Proudman, 42, of North Yorkshire, watched a documentary on the benefits of CBD oil, which contains less than 0.2 per cent of the psychoactive substance THC.
He told presenters Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby this morning that he was suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome, a condition that causes extreme fatigue and does not improve with rest.
But things came to a head in 2012 when he collapsed at home, experiencing slow-moving intestinal motility, which is a reduced motility of the large intestine caused by abnormalities of the enteric nerves.
As a result, she was rushed to the hospital where she underwent a series of emergency surgeries and was left with a temporary stoma.
Over the next year, Jade’s health declined rapidly, to the point that doctors told her husband and three children to say goodbye.
Luckily, Jade turned a corner, but struggled both physically and mentally, as she was left with a daily cocktail of strong prescription drugs, such as morphine, to control her pain, which caused her several complications.
She underwent 10 surgeries within 12 months and was later diagnosed with reactive arthritis and epilepsy.

The mother told presenters Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby how she suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome and collapsed at home in 2012 after experiencing slow-moving bowel motility.
The mother of three said she committed suicide after feeling “out” around her children.
She decided to take out all her pain medication and her husband, Leslie, suggested that she should try some CBD products.
After watching the 2013 documentary Weed, Jane contacted Joel Stanley, creator of Charlotte’s Web CBD, for help.
The documentary was followed by a five-year-old Charlotte Figi who had Dravet’s syndrome, a rare and serious form of epilepsy.

Jade Proudman, 42, of North Yorkshire, said CBD oil helped her overcome her chronic pain on this morning’s ITV show.
The child went from having a few seizures a day to not having one for seven days after taking the vegetable products.
In 2014, the Stanley brothers founded a company of the same name, Charlotte’s Web CBD, in his honor.
Despite being skeptical of cannabis in advance, Jade thought that maybe he could help her too.
Not knowing how to access the product, Jade tweeted Joel Stanley, the creator of Charlotte’s Web CBD, for help.
He went straight back to her and in 10 days a web package from Charlotte was on his doorstep.

She spoke with Holly and Phil about the day she was rushed to the hospital where she underwent a series of emergency surgeries and was left with a temporary stoma.
After taking CBD, he said that after “48 hours I felt like someone was getting the fog out of my head.”
She said: “I felt alert and optimistic and quite surprised at how very different I felt physically, I had no anxiety.”
Jade discovered that she was able to control her pain without “getting” the prescription drug she used to take.

He admitted that “he felt alert and optimistic” and “quite surprised at how different” he felt physically.
