Is it legal to buy CBD oil?
The purchase of CBD is legal in the UK, but the products must meet a number of criteria in order to be legally sold on the shelves and, of course, to be safe for human consumption.
A spokesman for the Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) said: “We have come to the conclusion that cannabidiol (CBD) products used for medical purposes are a medicine. Medicines must be licensed. product (marketing authorization) before they can be legally sold, supplied or advertised in the UK unless they are exempt.Authorized medicines must comply with safety, quality and efficacy standards to protect public health.
“If you are using CBD and have any questions, talk to your GP or other healthcare professional.
“We have written to UK CBD distributors and manufacturers to inform them of our opinion. We can provide regulatory guidance to any company wishing to apply for a license.”

What does CBD mean and what is it?
CBD is short for Cannabidiol, an extract found in cannabis plants.
But unlike THC, which is also found in the plant, it has no psychoactive effect on users, so it does not drug you.
It is made by extracting CBD from the cannabis plant and then diluting it with an oil, such as coconut.
Can you buy it on the main street?
Yes, pharmacies and health stores like Holland and Barrett and Lloyds Pharmacy store CBD oils, aerosols and more.
These retailers will be required to follow MHRA regulations, as mentioned above.
Could you have trouble buying CBD products?
The NHS website warns users about the risks of buying CBD products online.
In his section on medical cannabis, he says, “Some cannabis-based products can be bought online without a prescription.”
“Most of these products, even so-called ‘CBD oils’, are likely to be illegal to possess or supply. There is a good chance that they contain THC and are unsafe to use.”
