An NHS nurse who tried to sell cannabis oil to a vulnerable cancer patient has been fired.
Eliska Neuzilova had a secondary line in selling CBD products in addition to her job in the health service and used her position to try to make a profit.
A court heard how the nurse “abused her trust” by checking a woman’s medical records and hanging a pamphlet on her door announcing the oil.
Neuzilova was also accused of trying to convince the woman that cannabis oil would cure her cancer, but that complaint was ruled out in court after it became known that there was a lack of evidence because the patient had died.
The court ruled that, regardless of Neuzilova’s personal beliefs about CBD oil, a nurse who advises treatments that are not supported by medical evidence is “inappropriate” and “potentially dangerous.”
The Nursing and Midwifery Council court heard that Neuzilova was working in the Neuro-Spinal Postoperative Unit at Queens Medical Center in Nottingham.

He is said to have told the woman’s family that removing sugar and using cannabis oil would help cure her illness.
The court heard that the patient was conversational and would probably have talked about CBD oil if it was talked about, but there was not enough evidence to find that Neuzilova told the patient to take it as a cure.
However, the court found that Neuzilova hung a pamphlet on the patient’s door with details of the cannabis oil company in which she was involved.
The court heard that Neuzilova admitted she did so in a statement and said she “knew her address by her records.”
Neuzilova had a commission agreement with a CBD company where she pulled a cut in product sales.
A court report said: “Miss Neuzilova had given the patient a chance and some persuasion to buy cannabis oil products.”
The Board of Nursing and Midwifery canceled Neuzilova after finding that her actions were “incompatible” with her remaining on the register.

He said: “The panel learned that cannabis oil is not a standard medical treatment in the patient’s circumstances, and regardless of Ms. Neuzilova’s personal beliefs, she was pleased that a health care professional was giving advice on supplements. or treatments that are not supported by medical evidence is inappropriate and potentially dangerous.
“This represents a serious deviation from professional standards.
“In addition, the panel determined that the patient was very vulnerable and that Miss Neuzilova was in a position of confidence.
“Ms. Neuzilova’s use of the patient’s address, which she admits to having obtained in the performance of her duties as a registered nurse, in order to guide her for financial gain was an abuse. of that confidence “.
Neuzilova also did not properly record the information on another patient’s chart and did not ensure that her spinal fluid drainage worked, which meant that the patient needed urgent medical attention and was at risk of serious harm.
