FRANKLIN, Ky.- Senator Rand Paul attended today the grand opening of a new small business in Franklin, Kentucky.
Aviette Bioprocessing is a company that produces CBD oils from hemp grown in Kentucky.
The owner, Mark Loik, said recently more people have been looking at health internally, especially during the pandemic, and are looking for options other than a pill or medicine.
Loik says CBD oil can help with inflammation, general sleep disorders and general feeling of health.
He is not originally from the United States and said the community here has welcomed him and his business with open arms.
“Coming from Canada in an farming community has been a good way to look back where I came from and to be able to talk to farmers is something I really enjoyed. And Rand, he mentioned in his speech, I think states offer you a great opportunity if you have a quality product that people want to try and enjoy, this is the place to be, ”Loik said.
“They’re taking hemp, a product that our farmers make in Kentucky and they turn it into CBD oil that helps various diseases that people suffer from. It’s become very popular in the United States and we wish them all the luck in the world. It’s great for south central Kentucky and it’s not easy running a small business, ”said Sen. Rand Paul.
Loik also said Kentucky has one of the best cultivated hemp in the country because of the farmers here.
