606 Hemp is opening the doors to its new location in Pikeville, which will offer a similar selection as its other two locations, give or receive a couple of products, says owner and operator Calvin Daniels.

Daniels, a former firefighter paramedic, originally started with his first store located on Main Street in downtown Paintsville, having opened in April 2019 and later expanded to Fort Gay, Va. West in November 2020.
“With so much addiction in the area, there needs to be other non-prescription options that can help people with any condition,” Daniels said.
Daniels said he wants to bring natural alternatives to eastern Kentucky, facing a very pharmaceutical-dominated area.
Daniels says he wants his stores to be a comfortable environment that feels similar to walking into your neighborhood drug store.
“A place where a grandmother could walk in and buy CBD oil for leg pain if she wanted, without feeling offended or embarrassed to walk in,” Daniels said.
Daniels said he’s looking to create the same environment at his new Pikeville store, located at 3755 N Mayo Trail.
“We try to be as knowledgeable and welcoming as your local pharmacy,” Daniels said. “So many people think of old school bosses, we aim to be different from that. This is a place where we want people to feel comfortable, both for professionals and casual consumers.”
Daniels said not all of their products are FDA-cleared for their advertised treatment, but have been used for thousands of years as a way to treat pain, anxiety, symptoms associated with cancer and hyperactivity .
“These products offer a wide variety of solutions for many diseases that people suffer from,” Daniels said.
Daniels also said he hopes his expansion into Pikeville will be one that creates a small opportunity and some jobs.
The new Pikeville location will be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
